What is the lottery number system and how do I sign-up for a campaign?

Spring Break Campaigns uses a random sign-up process to help bring calm to chaos. Before the lottery number system was started, students would form lines at 8:00 am to sign up for campaigns, skipping classes and switching out with friends just so they could be the first in line. About 30 minutes before sign-ups, those at the front would start letting all their friends cut in line. No one was happy.

The Spring Break Campaign Committee came up with a solution: the lottery number system. To sign up for a campaign a student should pick up a lottery ticket from the Campus Center ticket windows Monday, October 31 through Wednesday, November 2 right after chapel. The student should then go online and complete the Campaign Sign-up form. On Thursday, November 3, students should watch myACU and the Campus Center for postings of the time their ticket number will be allow to sign up.

That night, students should bring their $25 sign-up fee at their designated time and sign up for the campaign they would like to go on.

How do I sign up for a campaign after the official sign-up date?

You can email the leader of the campaign you are interested in or email a SBC Committee member about spots available.

Can freshmen go on a campaign?

Certainly! Any current ACU student - freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior -- can participate in a Spring Break Campaign.

Can non-ACU students participate in Spring Break Campaigns?

Yes, non-ACU students can participate in campaigns. Students who are interested in participating, but are not attending ACU, should read over the policy and fill out an application. Spots will be filled on an first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to current ACU students.

Are my fees for the campaign tax deductible?

No! Fees are not tax deductible. Any money we received is not tax-deductible. The only way the money can be tax-deductible is if it is sent through a church.

Who do I make my checks out to?

Checks can be made out to ACU-SBC. Read more if you are an outside donor to a campaigner.

Can I pay with a credit card?

Yes. This is a new service offered to our campaigners. You can pick up a form in the Spring Break Campaign office (the War Room in the Bean Sprout) or see your campaign leader for the form on the day the payment is collected. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.
